about olivia
Olivia received her Bachelor's degree in dance at Muhlenberg College. While in school, she had the opportunity to study at the conservatory for theatre and dance at the Accademia dell' Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Olivia worked with several dancers and teachers who were trained in therapeutic bodywork. Olivia came to understand the importance of a personal wellness practice.
Olivia was inspired by the wonder of the connection between the emotional and physical body. She then went on to study at the Swedish Institute where she received training in Swedish, Shiatsu, Reiki, Deep Tissue and Myofascial release. Olivia cultivated a dynamic eastern practice which she added on to her strong western technique. She received advanced certification in Polarity and Reiki to combine western and eastern modalities.
Because of Olivia's extensive dance background, she has a heightened understanding of how the body receives touch. This knowledge translates well to people receiving massage for chronic pain.
Olivia has run a private practice in New York City for seven years. She has worked with performers, cast, and crew members of on and off broadway shows including Hamilton, Stomp, Beautiful and various shows at The Signature Theatre. In addition to her work as a massage therapist, Olivia has expanded her healing practice into the field of psychotherapy. She works as a mental health counselor with a master’s degree from Long Island University.
